Security and Estate Group

Security and Estate Group is the security and service delivery organisation for Defence. Security and Estate Group protects and advances Defence’s strategic interests through the provision of security services, estate services and infrastructure delivery. Security and Estate Group (SEG) is the security and service delivery organisation for Defence. The Group mission is enabling Defence capability by working in partnership with our clients to deliver integrated services through a highly capable workforce. SEG develops and sustains the Defence Estate. The Group designs and delivers Defence infrastructure and manages the complex Defence Estate – maintaining environmental stewardship of over 2.8 million hectares, the largest landholding in the Commonwealth with 70 major bases, 100 plus training ranges, and more than 1000 leased or owned properties. The Group performs a wide range of strategic functions for Defence. - Provides Defence protective security. - Manages the Defence Industry Security Program. - Delivers security clearances for Defence, the Government and Industry through the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency. - Controls Base Services, including access control, catering and hospitality, accommodation, building and grounds maintenance, firefighting, cleaning and laundry. - Leads the integrated and digital service delivery for Defence. Security and Estate Group has a budget in excess of $6.6 billion, with around 1,900 APS and 150 ADF staff.
