The Chief Information Officer (CIO) is accountable to the Secretary of Defence and the Chief of the Defence Force (CDF) to set the strategic Information Communication Technology (ICT) direction for the Defence portfolio. The CIO is responsible for providing a modern, secure, and sustainable ICT environment to support Defence business and military operations. In order to provide this service, Defence Digital Group maintains Defence’s: computing and telephone networks; cyber security capability; military and business applications as well as; the communication standards and spectrum required to operate key warfighting networks. Combined, these capabilities represent one of the largest, most diversified ICT capabilities in the Southern Hemisphere.
