The Translating and Interpreting Service (TIS National) is an interpreting service provided by the Department of Home Affairs for people with limited English proficiency and for agencies and businesses that need to communicate with their non-English speaking clients. TIS National also delivers the Free Interpreting Service on behalf of the Australian Government. TIS National has: • more than 75 years' experience in language services • access to more than 2700 interpreters in more than 150 languages. Services provided include: • immediate phone interpreting • Automated Telephone Interpreting Service (ATIS) • pre-booked phone interpreting • video remote interpreting • on-site interpreting. Registered clients or anyone with limited English proficiency can access immediate phone interpreting services. Agency clients can also request an interpreter using the booking tool, TIS Online. TIS National services are available 24 hours a day, every day of the year.
