The purpose of Defence's enterprise performance management is to ensure that strategy, capability and resources are aligned with Government direction to achieve intended results and outcomes. Defence's enterprise performance management is also designed to assist Defence APS and ADF personnel demonstrate compliance with the Public Governance, Performance, and Accountability Act 2013 (PGPA Act), which requires that all Commonwealth officials to apply good governance and management practices and procedures in day-to-day management.
Effective enterprise performance reporting assists Defence to assess overall performance and assure Government that Defence is using Commonwealth resources sensibly and effectively to deliver value to the Australian community.
