The Commander Joint Health Command (CJHLTH), is responsible for the provision of health care to members of the ADF and, from the health perspective, the preparedness of the ADF for operations. CJHLTH is also responsible for preparing Joint Health Command (JHC) for deployment in support of ADF operations and for the technical control, specified program management requirements and certain administrative support functions of the JHC. These responsibilities involve the provision of advice and the development of policy on a range of health issues. CJHLTH is also Chair of the Australian Defence Human Research Ethics Committee, and the Surgeon General ADF.
