Budget Policy Division

Budget Policy Division (BPD) coordinates the delivery of the Commonwealth Budget and other fiscal reports. As part of this role, BPD advises on the fiscal outlook and priorities, the fiscal strategy and the sustainability of fiscal settings. On a day-to-day basis, the Division is responsible for supporting budget decision-making processes, advice on movements in the budget balance, budget treatment, balance sheet impacts of new policy proposals and preparation of the medium-term fiscal projections.
