A Regional Telecommunications Independent Review Committee (RTIRC) is established approximately every 3 years by Part 9B of the Telecommunications (Consumer Protection and Service Standards) Act 1999 (the Act) to conduct reviews into the adequacy of telecommunications services in regional, rural and remote parts of Australia. The Committee is to prepare a report and provide this report to the Minister, at which point the review is deemed to have been completed. This must occur within 3 years of the completion of the previous review.
