Your guide to the structures, organisations and key people in the Australian Government

Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications and the Arts
The Black Spot Consultative Panels support the delivery of the Australian Government’s Black Spots Program. The panels are managed by the road authority in each state and territory and chaired by a Government MP or Senator nominated by the relevant Minister. Panel membership includes representatives from the road authority, local government, community, police and road user groups. The panels assess Black Spot project nominations in their jurisdiction each year and agree on a list of projects to submit for Black Spot funding through the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications and the Arts (department). The department reviews the nomination package, and submits it to the Minister for consideration and approval on behalf of the panel.
