The Australian Space Agency works across government, industry and academia to advance Australia's position in the global space economy. The Agency advances Government objectives through the following 5 functions:
1. Lead and coordinate space policy across government to ensure a coherent approach.
2. Shape and grow Australian space capability for the benefit of the nation.
3. Lead international civil space partnerships to create opportunities for Australia and support its foreign policy objectives.
4. Promote a responsible space sector through guidance and regulation.
5. Advance understanding of the contribution of space to a productive, resilient, and sustainable Australia and inspire the next generation science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) workforce through space.
