Australian Community Pharmacy Authority

Health and Aged Care
The Authority considers applications for approval to supply pharmaceutical benefits under the requirements of the Pharmacy Location Rules determined by the Minister for Health and Aged Care. The Authority makes recommendations to the Secretary of the Department of Health and Aged Care (delegated officers within the Department) as to whether or not the applicant should be approved in relation to particular premises. The National Health Act 1953 specifies the membership of the Authority who are appointed by the Minister for Health and Aged Care, with the exception of the Departmental representative who is appointed by the Secretary.
