The Centre operates pursuant to a Charter from the Chief of Defence Force (CDF). Its principal activity is the provision of financial and consumer education to Australian Defence Force members through their careers (including at initial training, pre and post deployment, and during transition) in alignment with the Government’s National Financial Capability Strategy. The Centre also provides the CDF and the Service Chiefs with technical assistance on related matters, as requested and fosters strong relationships with key regulators and industry bodies including the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC). The Centre has 5 members who are all currently ADF members; a Chair appointed by the CDF, as well as the Head People Capability and the Directors General Personnel for the Services.
