Aviation Command

Headquarters Army Aviation Command (HQ AVNCOMD) was established in July 2021, in accordance with the Army Force Structure Implementation Plan 2020, to ensure Army’s aviation capability to be ready now and future ready. The Command’s mission is to deliver aviation capability in order to support Army’s generation of land power to the Joint Force. The Command’s purpose is to generate an enduring functional command within Army optimised for Accelerated Warfare that generates and sustains Army’s aviation capability in support of domestic and offshore operations. Headquarters Aviation Command (HQ AVNCOMD) aligns with the Army in Motion, focusing on people and preparedness, profession, potential and partnerships. Our personnel are our greatest strength and most important capability. It is because of our people; officers and soldiers, their families, Defence civilians and veterans, that we are prepared and ready to respond to any situation.
