The National Forest Inventory Steering Committee (NFISC) guides the National Forest Inventory, which is a partnership between the Commonwealth and state and territory governments "to be the authoritative source of information for national and regional monitoring and reporting to support decision making on all of Australia's forests". The NFISC consists of representative from each state and territory plus a representative from the Australian Government Department of Agriculture and Water Resources. The NFISC reports to the Forestry and Forest Products Committee (FFPC) as a subordinate body that supports FFPC.
