The Sub-committee on National Plant Health Surveillance (SNPHS) is a sub-committee of the Plant Health Committee. Its principal focus is to maintain and improve Australia's plant health surveillance capacity and capability in support of the economy, environment and community. The SNPHS membership includes representatives from state and territory governments, the Commonwealth, Plant Health Australia, the Plant Biosecurity Cooperative Research Centre and CSIRO. Representatives from forestry and the Sub-committee on Plant Health Diagnostics attend as observers. The chair is selected from members of SNPHS and agreed by consensus of the membership. Secretariat services are provided by the Australian Government Department of Agriculture and Water Resources.
