The Sub-Committee on Domestic Quarantine and Market Access (SDQMA) aims to develop, maintain and improve harmonised, transparent and scientifically justified plant biosecurity measures that facilitate market access for plants and plant products for domestic markets, whilst minimising risks associated with the spread of regulated pests to unaffected regions and states.
SDQMA members include senior plant health regulators from the state and territory Government departments of agriculture or primary industries and representatives from the Australian Government Department of Agriculture and Water Resources. Plant Health Australia has observer status.
