Data Standards Chair

Treasury
Mr Andrew Stevens was reappointed as the Data Standards Chair from 1 March 2023 until 28 February 2025. Mr Stevens’ reappointment will enable him to continue the significant contribution he has already made to establishing and implementing the Consumer Data Right (CDR) regulatory framework through the making of technical and consumer experience standards. CDR Standards facilitate safe and secure rails for consumers to access, and consent to, sharing of their data with trusted and accredited third parties. The CDR is a transformative economic reform, supporting the digitalisation of Australian businesses and empowering consumers to make better-informed choices about products and services by providing access to the data that businesses hold about them, helping them save time and money through enhanced competition and innovation. Mr Stevens was first appointed to the role in 2018 and brings a wealth of industry experience to the role as the former Managing Director of IBM Australia and current Chair of the Industry, Innovation and Science Australia Board.
