Administers salaries and certain entitlements of Members and provides a range of services to Members in Parliament House, including office accommodation, equipment, furniture, car bookings, stores, secretarial support and messenger services. Through the Serjeant-at-Arms' Office, responsible for the security of the House of Representatives Chamber, the arrangement of ceremonies connected with the sittings of the House, and supervision of the broadcasting, televising and filming of the proceedings of the House. Delivers corporate support services for the department. Jointly funds parliamentary security arrangements for Parliament House with the Department of the Senate. The Serjeant-at-Arms is represented on the Security Management Board which coordinates overall security policy for Parliament House.
