The Science & Technology (S&T) Capability branch delivers innovative policies, processes and tools to assure and demonstrate the value of Defence S&T through: -Assuring the transparency, planning and delivery of the Defence S&T Portfolio and a One Defence S&T Capability plan -Identifying and assuring S&T Capability in the national S&T enterprise needed to solve Defence’s most critical challenges -Supporting the assurance and governance of S&T within Defence; and providing robust, transparent and contestable investment decision making aligned to Defence priorities. They assure impartial technical advice to Defence and government by ensuring that technical risk is understood and mitigated in major Defence acquisition projects, and supporting engagement in Defence senior committees through providing consistent S&T advice to enable informed decisions. As the Group Risk Officer, they support the identification and mitigation of Group enterprise risks, and represent DSTG at the Capability Manager Gate Review, Defence Finance and Resource Committee and the Integrated Investment Program Synchronisation.
