The Animal and Biological Imports Branch implements biosecurity policies to allow for the safe movement of animals, animal products, genetic material, and microorganisms into Australia. The activities of the branch include interacting with domestic and international industry stakeholders, developing effective import conditions in-line with regulatory requirements and providing technical guidance to support imports, including assessing permit applications. The branch also provides work instructions, technical training and verification for frontline biosecurity officers to ensure effective.
