Your guide to the structures, organisations and key people in the Australian Government

One of Canberra's most striking landmarks, the National Carillon is also a unique musical instrument. With 55 bronze bells, the National Carillon was built as a gift from the British Government to the people of Australia to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the national capital. The 50 metre high tower ranks among the world's largest and allows the music of the bells to drift across Lake Burley Griffin. The National Carillon has a comprehensive recital program and tour schedule. For more information on recital and tour timings, contact (02) 6272 2900.
